ESCAPE TO RAJA AMPAT
RAJA AMPAT, RASCAL-STYLE
Jump aboard a sunrise tender tour to look for the Waigeou cuscus, an endemic, noctural marsupial with distinctive white fur and black spots; take part in our conservation partner's incredible efforts to help restore some of Raja Ampat's coral reefs; learn how to navigate and take supervised control of the ship's wheel as we sail through Raja Ampat's iconic dome-shaped karst islands; search for the incredible epaulette shark that can literally walk over shallow reefs and through rock pool searching for prey.
WILDLIFE HIGHLIGHT:
BIRDS OF PARADISE
Of all the incredible 250 species of birdlife in Raja Ampat - including the Papuan hornbill, palm tree cockatoo and red-cheeked parrot, the most spectacular are the birds of paradise. Renowned for their dazzling colours, extravagant plumage (including ruffs and elongated, spiral tail feathers known as streamers), they're most famous for their exaggerated courtship displays which include bobbing, strutting and feather fanning - all of which we can see on one of our special birdwatching safaris at dawn.
SIGNATURE EXPERIENCE:
SACRED RIVER ADVENTURE
This magical experience for all the family begins with a 15-minute tender ride deep into the jungle. We take a short, guideed hike where we'll likely spot the semi-aquatic sail-fin dragon, named for the large sail-like structure on their tails which they use as propulsion to move through the water, making them excellent swimmers. We arrive at the Blue River, fed by an underground spring and considered sacred by locals, where the gentle current will carry us downstream, before we take the tender back to the phinisi in time for a roof-deck sundowner.

RING OF FIRE
Indonesia is home to more volcanoes than any other country, with at least 130 active volcanoes and many more dormant or totally extinct. This magnificent landscape we sail through - of craters, cones and black-sand beaches - is home to locals who worship gods of fire alongside a wealth of wildlife including long-tailed macaques, Komodo dragons and vast colonies of fruit bats. Underwater, the abundant marine life is equally varied and spectacular: from the tiny pygmy seahorse to the world's largest fich - the whale shark.
